Spherical divergence of a 2-D vector field (Aλ, Aφ).

Matches LOG20 div.m:

Parameters:
  • Ax – Zonal component, 2-D (nlat, nlon).

  • Ay – Meridional component, 2-D (nlat, nlon).

  • lat_rad – Latitude in radians, shape (nlat,).

  • dphi – Meridional spacing [rad].

  • dlambda – Zonal spacing [rad].

  • periodic – Periodic zonal boundary.

Returns:

Scalar divergence field, (nlat, nlon).
